In the last hours, the San Diego Padres have given the surprise when activating an MLB market which looked pretty slow: first when we make a change by Cy Young’s winning pitcher Blake Snell with the Tampa Bay Rays, and now they have signed one of the best international potentials, beating him bid it on several teams interested in its services.
It’s South Korean Ha-Seong Kim, who, according to Bob Nightenhale from USA Today, the San Diego Padres won the Asian infielder’s signature. MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports that the contract is for at least 4 years for one of the best international talent available, with the amount of money not yet revealed.
Kim can play anywhere in the box and has accumulated more than six seasons with the Korean Baseball Organization. Last season, he hit .306 / .397 / .523 with 30 home runs in 622 appearances on the set for Kiwoom Heroes.
He averaged 21.5 home runs and 21.3 stolen bases in the 7 seasons he played at KBO South Korea.
