Minsa clarifies that there are no gender restrictions for emergency care and tampons

The Panamanian Ministry of Health clarified on Monday that people who need emergency medical care or are tested for COVID-19 can do so on any day, regardless of gender or identification number.

From today until January 14, a total quarantine began in the provinces of Panama and West Panama, which restricts mobility to certain days and hours, depending on gender and the latest identity code or passport. This measure aims to reduce the number of people on the streets and therefore minimize the risk of contagion by COVID-19, however, as explained by Minsa, this restriction does not apply to the care described above.

Previously, there was confusion in the buffer centers, due to the fact that there were men waiting for sampling and they were told that they would not be treated, because as Minsa established, on Monday mobility is only allowed for women.
