Minors suffer serious stab wounds in the alteration in downtown Santa Barbara Local news

A teenage boy was taken to hospital on Wednesday night with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed during an alleged gang-related fight in downtown Santa Barbara, according to police.

A group of four youths were walking near Anapamu and Bath streets when a second group of young men and young adults approached and a fight broke out, according to Anthony Wagner, a spokesman for the Santa Barbara Police Department.

A teenager was stabbed and the rest of the people left the area, Wagner said.

The stabbed victim walked on De la Vina Street and collapsed, and AMR police and paramedics responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m., Wagner said.

The victim was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and his medical condition was unknown Thursday, Wagner said.

No arrests have been made since Thursday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing.
