Milla Jovovich was not so excited when her husband, writer-director Paul WS Anderson, asked her to play “Monster Hunter,” their new video game adaptation of the same name.
“I was saying, ‘Oh, my God, you have to joke with me!’ Like, I just finished “Resident Evil.” We killed zombies and now the next thing you want to do together is you want to kill monsters? In the movie Sony, on Friday, Lt. Artemis (Jovovich) and her group of soldiers are transported to a new mysterious world. Artemis teams up with Monster Hunter (Tony Jaa) to fight – you guessed it – the giant monsters to stay alive and return to the real world.
“I always had a lot of respect for the military and I always said that if I wasn’t an actress, I could have joined the military because I come from a military family,” says Jovovich. “A large part of my family from the former Yugoslavia and Russia was part of the army.”
Anderson says “Monster Hunter” was his most challenging film, especially filming in the African desert. “[Milla] it ended with sunburned eyeballs by the end of the film, which I didn’t even know was a thing, ”says Anderson. “But the whites of our eyes are burning because you can’t put sunscreen on your eyeballs, [but] she was there every day, delivering for us. “
Jovovich really trained American bands before he started production. “I started training every day just to physically challenge myself for the film and try to live in the mind of a soldier and have this discipline,” she says. He participated in war simulations at Fort Irwin, about three hours north of Los Angeles. “I’ve never been in a better state in my life, not even at 20,” she said. “I had never felt as strong as when I trained for this movie, because I trained every day, like waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning to train before work,” says Jovovich. “I felt I could take over the world.”
Regarding Netflix’s plan to launch a series of live “Resident Evil” actions, Anderson says: “We’ve been doing ‘Resident Evil’ for 15 years. 13 USD. billion. Six movies. We managed to get past “Resident Evil”. “
Jovovich says: “I literally read about it online. “Resident Evil” is an amazing universe. I’m not surprised I’m doing a number of things. I always thought, in a sense, when I was making movies, it felt like a TV show because I made six of them. “
