MidAmerican Energy requires customers to reduce gas consumption

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – MidAmerican Energy requires its customers to maintain their natural gas consumption because extreme weather conditions affect supplies across the country.

MidAmerican Energy said its systems are operating as expected, but the flow of natural gas to Iowa has been affected by frozen wells in the southern United States.

The company said it expects the issue to be resolved in the coming days as temperatures rise in the southern United States.

MidAmerican requires customers to consider making minor adjustments, such as lowering the thermostat by a few degrees, to ensure that natural gas is available.
