While millions of players are still struggling to find a retailer Xbox Series X. in stock, those who already have their hands on the device you may have noticed that their controllers do not stay connected to their consoles. Microsoft now recognizes the problem and promises to fix it.

For many Xbox Series X users, controllers DISCONNECTING from the console may appear randomly or sporadically. Into the in other cases, it appears while playing a certain game, which some (including our own review editor Alex Cranz) have assigned to interference with the home wireless network.

However, for anyone who has spent some time sailing Microsoft Support Forums or threads like that Reddit, it is clear that the Xbox Series X issues of maintaining a connection with its controllers are not an isolated issue. Microsoft has acknowledged the problem. One statement provided the Virgin, a Microsoft spokesman said: “We are aware that some players are experiencing disconnections with their new Xbox wireless controllers, and our teams are actively working on a solution that will be included in a future update.”

The challenge for Microsoft is that the problem of disconnecting controllers from the console happens in a few ways. For some, the controller will simply not remain associated with the console, while for others, a controller may appear to be properly synchronized, even if the console does not record entries or push of a button. And in other cases, disconnected controllers seem to be a much more common problem when playing titles such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Alex Cranz said the the problem can be solved by removing the batteries from the controller and then reinserting them (essentially turning the device off and on again). Unfortunately, it is not clear what causes the disconnections, first and foremost while Microsoft said investigating, there is currently no timetable for when a new patch or fix might be available.

The only good news is that if you’re a PC user who has had your Xbox Series controller disconnected from a Windows computer via Bluetooth, Microsoft has already released a patch via Windows Update for this.

So for anyone there whoever wondered why the Xbox Series X controller could have been randomly disconnected from their console, at least you know it’s a real problem. HFortunately, Microsoft may soon find a solution.
