Michigan opens COVID vaccine eligibility at 16+ months: the best dating options

DETROIT – Starting Monday, April 5, all Michigan residents over the age of 16 will be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.

The state guidelines will remove restrictions on booking a COVID-19 vaccination program on April 5, allowing all adults to receive one of three FDA-approved vaccines.

Michigan will also see an increase in vaccine deliveries starting this week to help combat the current wave of COVID-19, which is among the worst in the U.S.

Options for finding a vaccine have expanded across the country in the past week and will continue as supply increases. Here are some of the best options for finding a date:

CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Rite Aid are rapidly expanding their programming in Metro Detroit and Michigan. The best time to find dates is early in the morning. (Pro-type: Search by zip codes)

Also check at local drugstores. Many have vaccine offers or waiting lists.

Local health departments have launched local clinics for residents, some from local communities and others at the county level – you can find a list of each health department here.

Walk-in clinics are one of the best ways to get a vaccine. In Sterling Heights this week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, ACCESS will host a Pfizer walk-in clinic open to anyone over the age of 16. More information here.
