The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan has risen to 605,778 since Friday, including 15,737 deaths, state officials said.
Friday’s update includes a total of 2,403 new cases – the highest one-day total since January. Friday’s update also includes 8 additional virus deaths.

Testing has been constant around 35,000 diagnostic tests reported on average per day, with a positive rate of 7 days over 4.5% since Thursday. The state has reported a slight increase in hospitalizations in the past two weeks.
Michigan’s 7-day moving average for daily cases was 1,573 on Friday – up from last week. The average death toll for 7 days was 17 on Friday. The fatality rate of the state is 2.6%. The state also reports “active cases”, which were listed on Friday at 40,200 – close to the lowest level in October. More than 549,000 have recovered in Michigan.

Michigan reported more than 2.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, starting Friday.
According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 29 million cases have been reported in the United States., with more than 530,900 deaths reported by the virus.
All over the world, more than 118.7 million people were confirmed infected and more than 2.6 million died. More than 67 million were recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University. The real numbers are certainly much higher, due to limited tests, the different ways in which nations count deaths and the deliberate reporting of governments.
