Michael B. Jordan will direct and star in Creed 3: The Legend of Rocky

At the time, Sylvester Stallone switched from starring in Rocky films to directing them. And now his successor, Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) will do the same with the third installment of Creed, in which he will again play the role of Adonis Creed, the son of the legendary boxer Apollo, while going behind the scenes date.

In his book A Life in Movies: Stories from 50 Years in Hollywood, boxing franchise producer Irvin Wenkler has already explained that Jordan will have the opportunity to direct a Rocky movie. “I promised Michael B. Jordan that I would have the opportunity to direct Creed 3. Last year, in a conversation with our star, I offered not only to participate, but also to direct,” he wrote.

Now, Rocky spin-off saga co-star Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok) has confirmed it in a promotional interview for her latest film, Sylvie’s Love, with MTV News. And if Jordan doesn’t have another secret project, the third part of Creed will be his first film as a director.

The most curious thing is that, directed by Creed 3, Jordan follows in the footsteps of Stallone, who went behind the scenes in all the Rocky movies, except the first one until Ryan Coogler took over with the first installment of Creed.

The details of the next film, Adonis Creed, which in his predecessor confronted the son of Iván Drago, Rocky’s eternal enemy played by Dolph Lundgren, are currently unknown. Similarly, no release date and no filming start date have been announced yet.
