23:50 ET: That’s what she’s going to do from us, and we hope you enjoyed following us tonight. Remember to return on Sunday while the US plays to win a spot at the Tokyo Games, while the senior team is in action on Thursday in an international vs. friendly. Jamaica (13:00 ET on ESPN / Watch ESPN). Good night!
23:42 ET: Let’s check with Jeff Carlisle once again after a frustrating 1-0 defeat for the United States.
“The result was not a surprise, but it would be hoped that the US attack will look much more in this weekend’s semi than it did tonight. On the other hand, both central defenders looked good. Decision hard for Kreis as to whether Pineda or Kessler’s partner, Justen Glad, from the start in the next game. ‘
“The strength of this team continues to be the goalkeeper and the top five, if you will. He will have to go to qualify in Tokyo.”
If you have Yueill started from the beginning this weekend it should help you, but Cardoso didn’t prove enough to be in the starting XI for that match. Hopefully Dotson’s ankle isn’t too hurt.

93 MINUTES: Djordje Mihailovic’s corner is cleared and Mexico seems to break. Aaron Herrera deliberately commits a foul over Erick Aguirre and the referee blows for a foul. 1-0 Mexico is your end.
93 MINUTES: The USA wins a corner just before the end of the three minutes of added time. This is definitely their last chance!
92 MINUTES: UNDER THE. Uriel Antuna, the undisputed man of the match, comes to applause and is replaced by Alan Mozo.
90 MINUTES: Although the USA did not create much, it was an encouraging performance by goalkeeper David Ochoa. Former international and current ESPN expert Herculez Gomes was impressed.
David Ochoa has a total of how many first team games ?!
You don’t know if you’re watching his shows. Acum So far he is up to the challenge.

88 MINUTES: The US attack really doesn’t seem to score tonight.
Hard to see #USMNT U-23 found a breakthrough given the lack of creativity. But that was known to be coming. #usynt

83 MINUTES: Alexis Vega whips a dangerous ball, but it reaches the Ochoa who keeps up. Ochoa and Vasquez meet at the top of the box and temperaments light up on both sides. Not too much, but we officially have a USA vs. Mexico!
80 MINUTES: Only 10 minutes plus downtime. Can I find a US equalizer? In their current state, they need two goals to win the match and the group against Mexico.
75 MINUTES: UNDER THE. Jason Kreis uses his last dice roll by bringing in former Clemson football recruit Tanner Tessmann for Hassani Dotson.
71 MINUTES: UNDER THE. Benji Michel becomes the fourth under for the USA, while the man from Orlando City replaces Sebastian Saucedo. The United States has one sub left.
70 MINUTES: UNDER THE. It’s Mexico’s turn to make subs Three bring Jesus Ricardo Angulo and Carlos Rodriguez for Jose Macias and Roberto Alvarado.

69 MINUTES: The USA creates a half chance, but, despite Jurado’s fight, they fail to direct a shot at the target. Mihailovic continues to be the best threat to the Americans
61 MINUTES: UNDER THE. Triple sub for the United States. Jesus Ferreira is booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. You will have to be careful to avoid suspension for the semifinals.

59 MINUTES: Antuna puts the dangerous Jose Macias nearby, but the Chivas man has a golden chance for Mexico. Another gap for USYNT.
58 MINUTES: CHANCE. Maybe best night for the USA, because Sebastian Saucedo’s shot is blocked by Gilbert Sepulveda. American players appeal to handball, but it is not given. Johnny then kneels in the next corner, but is picked up by Jurado. The first shot in the night target for the USA
56 MINUTES: Antuna receives an American defender again, this time Aaron Herrera, which leads to a chance for Alvarado. A brave block by Henry Kessler impedes the effort, but Mexico pushes a second now.
53 MINUTES: The USA finally enters the middle of Mexico, but, despite the best protests, Johnny is not given a corner by the referee. Good job from Soto to start moving.
46 MIN: We are moving again, while Mexico picks up where they left off and loads forward in the middle of the US.
22.42 pm ET: Here are Jeff’s biggest payments since opening the 45 minutes
1. It’s hard to see where the creativity will come from tonight, especially with Kreis protecting Jesus Ferreira’s guys on yellow cards.
2. Defensively, the US improved as the half continued. Pineda, in particular, looks much sharper than he was in the group’s opening against Costa Rica.
3. For all the discussions about Johnny Cardoso who has attacking skills, he has not shown it internationally yet.
22:31 ET: More analysis of Mexico’s late goal …
Goal Mexico. Antuna punishes a gift offered by Soto and passes it to Ochoa. #USMNT The U-23s were so close to the break. Big shot for the US #usynt
– Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) March 25, 2021
GAME: Mexico is 1-0 at the break, as Antuna’s strike in the 45th minute is the difference.
45 MINI: GOAAALLL! Mexico makes the first shot just before the break, through the former Galaxy man, Uriel Antuna.

37 MINUTES: USA wins a promising free kick, and the dangerous ball of Djordje Mihailovic leads to a fight in the box. Mexican goalkeeper Luis Malagon lands awkwardly on the wrist and seems to have suffered a nasty injury. He is stretched and Sebastian Jurado comes to replace him.
28 MINUTES: A huge gap for the USA! Mauricio Pineda made a brilliant save, denying Alejandro Mayorga, who seemed to be clear in the goal after turning the American right defender Julian Araujo inside. Araujo, the lightest man on the field. It remains 0-0.
23 MINUTES: Mexico is starting to gain momentum here, as Ochoa makes a comfortable first save, before former LA Galaxy striker Uriel Antuna blocks well with a cutter.
20 MINUTES: If the US qualified, what could a dream XI of eligible players look like? While we understand that many of these players will not be released by their clubs, here is our dream Jeff Jeff Carlisle XI:
GK David Ochoa; LB Antonee Robinson, CB Mark McKenzie, CB Chris Richards, RB Sergino Dest; MF Yunus Musah, MF Tyler Adams, MF Weston McKennie; FW Giovanni Reyna, FW Josh Sargent, FW Christian Pulisic
It is now a team on paper that is supposed to be a major competitor for a medal.
16 MINUTES: The third corner of the night in Mexico does not produce any final product, as Vasquez is heading to Ochoa.
13 MINUTES: In Guadalajara it becomes physical, as both teams eliminated heavy challenges in the early stages. Amin, Janusz.
It’s the USA vs. Mexico, so it’s always important. #USYNT

9 MINUTES: Another corner for Mexico, taken by Roberto Alvarado. Goalkeeper David Ochoa tried to misjudge the flight of the Cruz Azul star’s cross, but kept it to avoid any additional danger.
7 MINUTES: After being pushed back by Mexico, the USA started to start this match, first winning a corner and now a free kick in the attacking half.
3 MINUTES: And Mexico wins the first corner of the match … which, after a partial clarity, results in a long distance with the car from Johan Vásquez, which disappears wide.
21:40 ET: AND WE ARE ON GUADALAJARA!
21:17 ET: Are you ready for USA vs. Mexico? Midfielder Andres Perea seems sure delighted with his first taste of the biggest rivalry of CONCACAF …

20:56 ET: If you missed it … could you play some of the first young USMNT stars in Tokyo if the US qualifies? Christian Pulisic said he will enjoy the opportunity to represent the Stars and Stripes this summer.
“It’s something I thought about and wanted to play,” Pulisic said in a Zoom call with reporters about the Olympics. “Obviously, I can’t control what’s going on. What’s best for me at the moment and what’s best for the team at the time, obviously I can’t say. But it’s something I’d like to play.”
8:37 pm ET: USYNT starting XI is eliminated and Jason Kreis made six changes with Julian Araujo, Henry Kessler, Sebastian Saucedo, Andres Perea and Hassani Dotson, the only remnants of Sunday’s 4-0 victory over the Dominican Republic.
