Melissa McCarthy has been in Australia with her family since she filmed Nicole Kidman’s Hulu mini-series Nine Perfect Strangers in New South Wales in 2020.

She and her husband Ben Falcone revealed in February that they chose to extend their stay Down Under to film God’s Netflix Favorite Idiot series in the country.

On Wednesday, the Hollywood couple saw filming scenes for the upcoming comedy in Lismore, 45 km west of Byron Bay.

God’s Favorite Idiot is a comedy at work about a mid-level technical support employee Clark Thompson (Falcone) who finds love with co-worker Amily Luck (McCarthy) just as he becomes God’s unwanted messenger .

Earlier this month, Melissa filmed scenes for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder in Sydney’s Little Bay.

Melissa, 50, was seen giggling as she wore a huge green helmet to turn into Hela, who was originally played by Cate Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok, however, did not replace her. Cate, but plays Fake Hela instead.

She is believed to have secured her role after making a hilarious Instagram audition with her husband Ben Falcone on Christmas Day.
