Meghan Markle has been accused of intimidating at least two palace aides during her brief tenure as British royal senior.
Sources told The Times of London that the Duchess of Sussex occasionally reduced staff to tears when she lived at Kensington Palace after her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.
In an alleged incident, a royal assistant who had anticipated a confrontation with Markle told a colleague, “I can’t stop shaking.”
Two senior members of the palace staff were reportedly intimidated from leaving their jobs, the British newspaper reported.
A third former assistant said he was personally “humiliated” by the former TV actress.
Another former employee told the Times that the situation felt “more like emotional cruelty and manipulation, which I think could also be called aggression.”
The couple’s communications assistant at the time, Jason Knauf, reported the behavior in October 2018, apparently in an effort to protect staff, the report said.
“I am very worried that the duchess has managed to harass two PAs in the household in the last year. The X * treatment was totally unacceptable “, it was shown in the HR complaint.
“The duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights,” Knauf continued. “He assaults Y and seeks to undermine his confidence. I had report after report from people who witnessed unacceptable behavior toward Y. ”
He added: “I am worried that nothing will be done.”
Newspaper sources said Buckingham Palace was more concerned that the situation was disappearing instead of addressing it.
“Older people in the household … knew they had a situation where staff members, especially young women, were harassed to tears,” one person said.
“The institution has just constantly protected Meghan. All the men dressed in gray suits he hates have a lot to answer for, because they have done absolutely nothing to protect people. ”
A 39-year-old Sussex spokesman said Markle denied all allegations of intimidation and was “saddened by this latest attack on her character, especially as someone who was the target of the aggression”.
The allegations come before a general interview the couple did with Oprah Winfrey – in which Markle is prepared to claim that life in the royal family was “almost lifeless”
She and Harry, 34, will talk about their decision to leave the royal family and move to California with their son, Archie.
