Microsoft has unveiled the next batch of games coming to the Xbox Game Pass for PC this month and I think you Yakuza fans will be quite pleased. The Yakuza Remastered collection (which contains Yakuzas 3, 4 and 5) will enter the subscription service on January 28, along with the new horror The Medium of Bloober Team. Moreover, Donut County and RPS Fave Desperados 3 are on their way. Wonderful things.
Sega already announced in December that a lot of Yakuza games will come to PC this month, but still, it’s good to have a reminder. I’m told these are really good games. Ed, in particular, is a big fan of the Yakuza 5 plot, where you play as a cute high school idol J-Pop.
The next big’un is The Medium, a new supernatural horror game from Observer developers, Bloober. It takes place in an abandoned hotel in Poland and looks like a good spookfest. The developers have previously said that it is “their most ambitious game ever” and it is certainly one I look forward to – especially considering how good Observer was.
In case you missed it, on Sunday Microsoft also announced that Remedy’s Control will come to Game Pass this week. Brendy’s control analysis says the game “feels good in bits,” no matter what that means.
However, there are only a few of the headliners who hit Game Pass this month, here is the full list of arrivals at the end of January:
- January 21 – Control, Desperados 3 and Donut County
- January 26 – Cyber Shadow
- January 28 – The Medium, Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered and Yakuza 5 Remastered
However, some good people say goodbye to the Game Pass on January 29th. You only have 10 days to try this batch:
- The gambit of death
- Final Fantasy XV
- Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour
- Gray
- Indivisible
- Reigns: Game of Thrones
- Sea salt
I highly recommend you jump on Gris while you still have a chance. It is a beautiful little platformer, where each screen makes you travel through a wonderful world of watercolors. Alice Bee thought it was a little empty in her review of Gris, but it’s really a delight to look at and it will only take a few hours a day.
