Recently graduated medical students who took the MIR exam this year, which allows access to a position as a specialist in training in the Spanish National Health System, ask the administration to personally choose their position.
The problem has been going on since last year, when opponents of the ESF (Specialized Health Training) had to turn to the Supreme Court of Justice to agree with them on the right to choose their place in person, with all the guarantees. . However, this year the Government has decided to change the law so that the whole process is telematic.
In addition, the students themselves do not oppose the telematic choice, but rather demand that when choosing the desired places they do so with all the guarantees that the choice allows in person. This choice is made in an official act in which both the opponents and the authorities of the Ministry of Health, verify the choice of the graduate.
In the same vein, opponents say they do not understand this legislative change. In addition, it is a somewhat incoherent situation, as the government justifies the choice of places by electronic means due to the health crisis that the country is going through. However, these official acts can be followed by health recommendations, given the next elections to be held in Madrid on May 4, 2021, is it not possible then that the future of our health system will have the same guarantees?
On the other hand, students also consider that the web network in which these types of operations take place is an archaic and inefficient computer system in which problems accumulate at every step. In addition, the choice of the future of a doctor in our country may be subject to a computer problem that prevents him from developing his professional career forever.
Taking into account the fact that this MIR test is carried out annually and that approximately 15,000 applicants are presented, the future doctors of our health system, an international reference, have created an application on the change.org platform, in order to solve this situation, so so that they can decide their professional future with all the guarantees.
