McConnell says leaders have a tentative deal on the stimulus bill

“As the American people continue to fight the coronavirus this holiday season, they will not be alone. Congress has just reached an agreement. We will pass another rescue package as soon as possible. More help is on the way, “Senator Mitch McConnel posted on Twitter.

“The four leaders of the Senate and the House have finalized an agreement,” he added.

Fox News’s Chad Pergram reports that documents for the COVID bill are said to take some time to complete. Maybe “hours.”

Under normal circumstances, the news should be positive for the markets through which a long-awaited stimulus agreement could be at hand, while the Moderna vaccine began to be delivered today to US sites.

The COVID mutation risks dominating the wires

However, while an agreement is being reached, parliamentarians have not yet received anything concrete, so disagreements may reappear today and delay progress.

Markets are well aware that this has happened repeatedly over the months of discussions.

Moreover, lawmakers face a deadline of 12:01 a.m. ET to avoid shutting down the government.

Bulls will also be extremely cautious, given how the UK has identified a new, more infectious variant of coronavirus.
