McConnell says Congress agrees to a $ 900 billion stimulus deal

Congress leaders have reached an agreement on a long-awaited second package of stimuli, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced on Sunday. The $ 900 billion bill includes an incentive check of $ 600 per person, though that figure will be lower for people who earned more than $ 75,000 in 2019, according to Washington Post. The bill will also include $ 300 a week in federal unemployment benefits, as well as several billion dollars that will be allocated for schools, transportation, rent and hunger reduction, in accordance with Post Jeff Stein. Congress hopes to pass the stimulus bill sometime in the coming days, pending the adoption of an ongoing resolution to avoid government shutdown.
