If you ask the question “Which car manufacturer produces the best cars?” you open a big box of worms. What defines best? Is it speed? Do you build quality? Comfort? And who can decide which is the best: car enthusiasts, football moms or algorithms? Well, after some rigorous testing, Consumption reports he thinks he has the answer: Mazda.

Although not infallible, CR has a fairly decent reputation for conducting unbiased and thorough tests. This is not just a commentator saying that the car is good. The score given to each brand reflects four different factors:

  • CR road test that analyzes over 50 different areas of performance.
  • Estimated reliability based on issues that have been identified in 17 different areas.
  • Owner satisfaction based on what CR say the members.
  • Safety standards – get more points if you have proven safety features all gaskets, not just the latest ones.

For this analysis, CR also analyzed how many green options the carmaker offers, which served as a small bonus bonus.

And after all this, Mazda ranked 1st, taking the title of best car manufacturer from Porsche. Here are the top five:

  1. Mazda
  2. BMW
  3. Subaru
  4. Porsche
  5. Honda

I don’t know about you, but I was pretty shocked when I saw BMW at such a high level – it jumped six places from 2020 to 2021 to ensure its final ranking.

And, yes, I can’t let you go without pointing out the worst. In this list, number one is the worst car in CR’s analysis:

  1. Alfa Romeo
  2. Land Rover
  3. Mitsubishi
  4. Jeep
  5. Lincoln

I was also really fascinated by the fact that Genesis was the biggest engine in this disaster, losing 13 spaces between 2020 and 2021 to finish in 15th place. The road test scores for Genesis cars were great, but this time really suffered in the reliability department.

If you want more information about how the ranking was done, you will need to go to Consumption reports.
