McConaughey mentioned that he was open to the idea, although he had no concrete plans for a possible transition from acting to public service.

Specifically, the actor said that the notion of taking over as governor is “something I consider. Absolute. What an honorable thing to consider.

He also declined to give Fallon much information about his future plans, noting that “it’s not far from that right now, sir.”

The interstellar actor then joked that his slightly underestimated response made him “sound like a politician.”

The subject of the conversation then referred to McConaughey’s experience during the recent winter storm that hit Texas, which dramatically affected the lives of millions of state residents.

The actor mentioned that he had to make several repairs to their house during the weather event.

Specifically, the Dallas Buyers Club star said that his house “broke a few pipes” and that “he had to take some plasterboard out of the house”.

McConaughey also noted that his family “just came down to boil water for four more days” before his interview with Fallon.

He then acknowledged that he and his loved ones had a more privileged life situation and expressed concern about “tens of thousands who are not in as good shape as we are.”

To that end, McConaughey has announced that he and his wife Camila will host a beneficial virtual concert called We’re Texas, which will air on Sunday.

Actor True Detective set out to select native Texans to attend the next event; performers such as Kelly Clarkson, Post Malone and Willie Nelson appear in the range.

Many other personalities in the entertainment industry, including Selena Gomez, Jennifer Garner and Joe Rogan, also want to make special appearances during the internet broadcast.

The emotion in McConaughey’s voice was audible as he told Fallon that “all the money that can be donated will go to large nonprofits on the ground.”

The actor concluded that, although the planning of the future event left him exhausted, “there are a lot of people who don’t even sleep, so I can’t be upset about it”.
