Trapped for thirst, Matt James took the reins as the sexiest man in America for the next few months, with the start of season 25 of “The Bachelor”.
And his friends are upset: It looks like it will be the most seasonal in the history of bachelors. One of the contestants brought Matt a vibrator, one made a steamy “WAP” reference. One got out of the limousine in lace lingerie and made Matt choose his dress. Someone called him Daddy in a promo. We like to see her.
Although they are on the cold east coast (Bachelor Mansion has temporarily moved to a luxury resort in Pennsylvania), this season seems spicy with drama. And lucky for us, it comes just 13 days after the “The Bachelorette” final.
Here’s what fell on the first night.
Meet Matt
If you don’t follow Tyler Cameron – Matt’s BFF – on Instagram, most viewers haven’t known Matt for a long time before tonight. He is biracial and was raised by a single mother in North Carolina. He played football at Wake Forest University, lives in New York and volunteered with children. He’s the first black bachelor in history, and that weighs him down: “I don’t want to upset blacks, I don’t want to upset white people,” he told Chris Harrison.
Meeting with the ladies
Thirty-two women were in quarantine for weeks and took four COVID-19 tests in hopes of sharing drops with Matt. There were some real winners, like Mari: “Do you ever meet someone and you just don’t know what to say?” Matt said as he walked away. Magi came from Ethiopia to be in the show.
Chelsea wore the devil in her dress.
Many faced in an apparent competition for the most absurd written names – looking at you, Pieper, Khaylah and Kali. But this is a competition for love, not misplaced vocals. In this column, we focus on the hermitages made to get Matt’s attention:
- Anna he brought her a survival kit with real “red flags” for him to shake hands with women.
- Khaylah, who is from North Carolina like Matt, got in a van.
- shot, a New York ballerina, danced outside the limousine.
- Alana he brought spaghetti and gave her a kiss, “Lady and the Tramp.”
- Time she climbed into a lace bra and panties. Matt helped her choose between two dresses. “Damn it,” he said as he walked away. “You have to love a woman you trust.”
- MJ he tried to drive in a pizza delivery machine with a pie in his hand, but was blocked.
- Katie He brought Matt a vibrator “because he went through a pandemic.”
- Kimberly he brought a big fish and threw it at Matt for a reason I don’t understand.
- “Queen” VICTORIA she was carried on a throne and wore a tiara – and then she fell up the steps.
Cocktail
As an introduction, Matt led his ladies in prayer instead of a toast for their journey. Then the women headed for a war “I can steal it for a second.” God bless them.
He talked to Sarah about how she struggles with the expectations of being perfect. When Mari told her about her Puerto Rican hurricane family, Katie and her vibrator interrupted her.
Khaylah continued to milk the advantage of her hometown, sharing a sweet tea toast with her husband. Kit “The Princess” tried the same strategy, giving her a New York-themed snow globe – although Queen V took her out and then harassed some ladies because they hadn’t had time alone with Matt yet. I’ll go out with a member and say he’s not here to make friends with me. He works overtime for the bastard’s edition.
Bri and Matt were related to their similar upbringing: she is also biracial and was raised by separated parents.
First kiss (real)
But it was Abigail who stole her heart: after revealing that she was partially deaf and wearing cochlear implants, Matt was honored to open up to her.
He couldn’t take his eyes off her and kissed her.
The first impression grew
No surprise, he went to Abigail too.
The rose ceremony
Lots of really solid ladies got roses like Bri, Mari, Chelsea and Kristin. But * collective groan * Victoria also received. At least we know in advance who’s here just to cause trouble in the house – but they usually don’t make it past the fifth week.
prediction
I think the first one-on-one will go to someone who caught Matt’s attention, but didn’t have a ton of time with him tonight, like Chelsea. But the promotions showed more women entering and many complaints, a real mess of the producers. Close up.
