Mario Ponce and Rodolfo Parker, among the deputies who do not achieve re-election in the Assembly

ARENA, FMLN, PCN and PDC are the parties most decimated after the preliminary election results.

The drastic reduction suffered by the traditional parties would mean that the emblematic deputies will not continue in the next legislature.

According to the data revealed by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (EST), several will be left out of the Legislative Assembly, among them the current president of the Legislative Body, Mario Ponce, of the PCN.

WHAT’S MORE: New ideas close to the qualified majority in the Legislative Assembly

Ponce is one of the oldest legislators in the Assembly. He arrived as a deputy deputy of the PCN in his first term in 1997 for the department of La Paz and since then, until now, he has been the deputy owner for Cuscatlán, gaining 24 years of parliamentary experience during the eight consecutive terms.

Also, the Pecheneg party did not get representation in San Salvador, so MP Eeileen Romero will not serve in the next legislative term. Romero will end his first term on April 30.

In San Salvador, neither Rodolfo Parker, from PDC, won any place for San Salvador. Parker served five consecutive terms in the Assembly, one of them as vice president of the board.

In Santa Ana, the FMLN did not get representation either, so the deputy Hortensia Margarita López was left out of the period 2021-2024.

The left party is the most decimated After the election results, but since the preferences were not known, it can only be deduced that out of the 24 deputies who competed in FMLN’s San Salvador, only one managed to get a seat.

AND: With 90% of the minutes processed, this is the new Legislative Assembly 2021-2024

Thus, it is not known whether well-known deputies such as Nidia Díaz, Carlos Ruiz, Damián Alegría, Yanci Urbina and Anabel Belloso, who were running for a seat in the Assembly, managed to represent San Salvador.

There is no representation of the PCN in Santa Ana, according to the latest TSE data. With this, it is possible to identify that the deputy Francisco Merino would not have entered the Assembly for a new period; as well as Colonel Antonio Almendáriz, who was competing for Sonsonate.

In the ARENA part, this party would have lost deputies in San Miguel, so it turns out that the deputy Edgar Escolán Batarsé would not be in the new legislature nor the deputy Lucía del Carmen Ayala, as well as in Chalatenango, for which the deputy Julio Fabián.
