An English journalist was mistakenly given the COVID-19 vaccine early, after an administrative error saw his height recorded in his medical records at just 6.2 centimeters.
Liam Thorp, the political editor of the Liverpool Echo, was wrongly considered to have a body mass index of 28,000 and is therefore listed as vulnerable.
Thorp, 32, with no underlying health conditions, recalled the funny mix in a Twitter viral thread and column published Wednesday. He also revealed how he refused the blow.
Thorp said he was “really surprised” to be offered the coronavirus, given how it is currently being released to people over the age of 65 in the UK.
He booked a meeting, “feeling that when you are offered a vaccine you should always accept,” but then he felt a growing uneasiness about his apparent jumps.
Thorp asked the operation if there was a mistake, he said, before receiving “one of the most bizarre phones in my life.”
According to medical personnel, his height had been introduced into his 6.2-centimeter system instead of six feet or two, about 188 centimeters.
“The man’s nervous tone burst out laughing when I joked about gaining weight and losing a significant amount of height during the block,” Thorp recalled. “If I had been less amazed, I would have wondered why no one would be more worried that a man of this remarkable size is sneaking into south Liverpool.”
