Malia Obama joins Donald Glover to write a new Amazon series

Malia Obama is said to have signed on to write for a future streaming series led by Donald Glover, who has just signed an eight-digit production agreement with Amazon Prime.

Glover’s new pact with the streaming platform will see the Emmy and Grammy winner produce a series of as yet undeveloped television projects, such as a potential new series called “Hive”. He turned to writer Janine Nabers (“Watchmen”) to help lead the team that includes the former First Daughter of the United States, the Hollywood Reporter reported for the first time.

Although the plot is tightly covered, sources have revealed that “Hive” will focus on a character similar to Beyoncé.

Malia, 22, has been a student at Harvard University since 2021, marking her first professional entertainment concert after several A-list internships, including an internship on the HBO “Girls” set. in 2015.

News of the addition of a profile to the Glover writers’ room comes just days after it was announced that 37-year-old creator “Atlanta” and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the mastermind behind the award-winning “Fleabag” series, will come together on screen for a remake of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith ”also in partnership with Amazon Studios as well as New Regency.

Amazon declined to comment. Representatives for Glover, also known as recording artist Childish Gambino, did not immediately respond to comments from The Post.
