In an emotional statement on a Twitch stream earlier Monday, Katherine “LunarKats” addressed the reasons why she was forced to break up with TSM over the weekend. She explained that it was due to a Snapchat she made in 2019, in which she said offensive and painful things about fast food workers.
TSM released the professional VALORANT player and streamer on Saturday, just three days after announcing it as part of their new VALORANT women’s list. She was to compete in the VCT Game Changers Series, which began this week before being eliminated from the team.
“There’s a video with a discouragement on Snapchat that I made in 2019 and I said a few really painful and insensitive things,” Lunarkats explained during her flow on Monday. “I’m not trying to justify anything I said in the video. While many in the community were curious that LunarKats would be removed from the team so soon, a lot of sports fans mostly targeted TSM because they seem to doubt the rules of the VALORANT Game Changers tournament by getting a sub in last moment.
