Lúgaro announces his retirement from Puerto Rico’s electoral policy

Former Internal Affairs candidate for the Citizen Victory Movement (MVC), Alexandra Lúgaro, announced this afternoon that she is officially retiring from the country’s electoral policy after seven years, two campaigns and the formation of the party for which she ran in the last election.

“It is never easy to give up what we are passionate about, what we love, what we helped build or what we saw growing. However, sometimes in life it is necessary to reinvent ourselves, to find new routes. and pass it on to others. The baton for a new section, “Lúgaro wrote on social media.

This decision, said the former candidate, is one he took with his chest flooded with a mixture of sadness, gratitude and hope.

Lúgaro explained that it was never her intention to be political or to aspire to a candidacy, but that she did so in disagreement with the reality of the island. In 2015, she was the one who determined her to run as an independent candidate for the Interior.

“We have achieved the unimaginable for many, to become without cars or resources the third largest political force in the modern history of the country. Undoubtedly … We have broken the dam!”, Added Lúgaro, who at that time reached the third highest higher number of votes.

The announcement was made in an open letter to the country published on the networks, where he described it as a feat that formed the Citizen Victory Movement and the change it made in the last elections, managing to position itself in the legislature.

“Today, I have to make a relay for the next section to be led by a new generation, one that is not willing to establish itself, that already recognizes that no structure is to be broken and that has had the joy of demonstrating the power that we have it when we meet, “he continued.

Finally, he thanked his family for their support and assured that “his struggle to change what we are experiencing” will not stop.

“My dissatisfaction with our reality, my desire to aspire to transform my environment and the love I feel for our country; it would never allow me to do that. On the contrary, it only means that I am willing to contribute to change. compared to other spaces, which I will seek to open new paths and that I will continue to fight from another trench to leave a better country than the one that was inherited from us “, he added.
