Rumors about Nicole sparked a whirlwind of online conversations about who would be better suited for the role, with Debra Messing connecting for the role on Twitter.

However, 69-year-old Lucie posted a video on Facebook asking fans to “stop arguing about who should play it – it doesn’t look like her, her nose is not the same, it’s not as funny. “

Lucie mentioned that the public “enthusiastically comments on the choice of the casting, which was not announced exactly, but was broadcast in the press the other day. And you know, it’s a closed deal, but the contracts aren’t actually signed, which is why I didn’t say anything public about it.

She laughed and added: “But I felt I should at least try to calm the waters here. Looks like there’s a lot of talk about Nicole Kidman. “It should be Debra Messing!” “It should be Carole Cook!” I do not know.

Debra threw herself incessantly for the role on Twitter last week, amid reports that Nicole was in talks to direct the cast of the film.

She retweeted several of her fans who said it would be a better choice, citing the tribute to I Love Lucy in the last season of Will And Grace.

During that tribute, Debra dressed up as Lucille’s sitcom character Lucy Ricardo to recreate some of her pieces, including her commercial for Vitameatavegamin and her attempts to work the assembly line at a chocolate factory.

However, Lucie remarked: “Here’s the deal – what you should understand. We’re not doing a remake of I Love Lucy. No one should replace Lucy Ricardo, or the Vitameatavegamin routine or the chocolate factory routine or any of the stupid things.

She said: “It is the story of Lucille Ball, my current mother, not Lucy Ricardo, and her husband Desi Arnaz, my father, not Ricky Ricardo. There will be humor in the film, but it’s a story of the two and how they met and what went well with finding the show, what went wrong – their relationship, their love affair.

Lucie added: “Now, of course, she will have I Love Lucy in her. In fact, Aaron Sorkin put it on the stage of a movie, a week of rehearsal – rehearsal and filming of the show – but all these other things take place at that time. Very little of the show is actually I Love Lucy stuff. ‘

She continued: “I don’t think you will be disappointed by that, though. Aaron did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life and it’s just a little suppose. It’s a small slice of life in their journey.

The legacy of showbiz mentioned: “It’s not the whole story. It’s not a biopic from cradle to grave. It’s a two-hour feature film about these two people and some of the remarkable things they went through.

She ended her message by encouraging fans to “Just trust us. It will be a beautiful movie. And PS the vote is over. I love you all.’

Aaron Sorkin writes and directs the upcoming biopic Being The Ricardos for Amazon after his streaming success with The Trial Of The Chicago 7 for Netflix.
