Ricardo Montaner, his children Mau, Ricky and Eva Luna and his son-in-law Camilo, released their first song together on Wednesday, “Amen”, a song in which, according to an interview with Efe, it shows a side that we have never exposed “.
The song, composed by the five, is a prayer in which the members of this family of musicians share their deepest fears, their deepest despair, their most sincere anguish, they said.
“We have never been so vulnerable,” said Mau Montaner, the youngest of Ricardo Montaner’s sons, who approved the comment, as did his brothers and brother-in-law.
The song, a kind of musical prayer supported by violins and in which the mantras of the theme are interspersed (“Amen” and “Take care of me”), shows the traces of all those who collaborated.
Sometimes it sounds like Montaner’s great ballads, sometimes like Mau and Ricky’s reguepop, as well as Camilo’s urban bohemian and also reflects the sweetness of Eva Luna’s songs. The matriarch, Marlene Montaner, was the director of the video.
Montaner’s father explained that the idea to sing the song came to him at the end of 2019.
“People have always asked us when we’re going to do something together, and we wanted it to be a piece that could last over time, that it wasn’t one that goes out of fashion for a month and then it’s forgotten,” he explained. .
The goal was to make a “hymn” that was not related to a particular moment. Therefore, although it was ready for months, they decided to wait.
“We did not want it to be associated exclusively with the pandemic, but since this has been prolonged and we know the suffering that many people are experiencing, we believe it is necessary now,” Ricky said.
Among all the participants in the song, there are almost 100 million who follow them on social networks.
Camilo stands out, the Latin artist with the most followers on TikTok and who has almost 54 million followers on that social network, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
His wife, who plays in the Nickelodeon series “Club 57” and his brothers, with hits such as “Papás”, “Desconocidos”, “La Grosera” and “La Boca”, have almost 20 million followers.
“People also tell us that our lives are rosy. With this theme, we also want you to realize that we also have our difficult moments. In “Amen” we describe and express our relationship with God “, said Camilo.
The mountaineers will spend Christmas in a cabin in upstate New York, surrounded by snow and away from the tropical hustle and bustle of Miami, because, they explained, they had to “recharge their batteries.”
Montaner and Camilo have already completed their next albums and will dedicate themselves to their promotion in 2021, while Eva Luna says she wants to make movies and is already preparing her new music. Mau and Ricky focus on returning “safely” to the stage and neither rules out the arrival of a baby for next year.
