User reviews are an important part of any showcase. Whether you shop on Amazon or directly from a manufacturer, being able to see what other buyers think about the product can help you make an informed decision when you buy. As Google continues to expand its online store to include Pixel phones, Nest devices, Fitbit trackers and more, it is vital for the company to add standard features to the site. Review pages for many of the most popular devices now appear in its showcase, but typically Google launches in half and is hidden from most users.

Every product that currently displays a review page in the Google Store seems to have the first feedback dated the beginning of March. There is no field to complete a new post, so these reviews were probably gathered from emails requesting ratings after purchasing a Pixel 5 or Nest Audio online. Likewise, there is no evidence that any of these were extracted from other websites, such as Amazon or Walmart. In fact, Target listings for these products do the exact opposite, with the latest additions now displaying “originally posted on Google LLC” under the heading.

Currently, the reviews have not been fully launched on the site. Navigating the page can be difficult – I had to manually edit the URL to get there because “Reviews” didn’t appear in the store menu – while some products, such as the Fitbit Versa 3, only redirect to the home page. It’s good to see that Google is finally adding feedback to its product pages, but it won’t make much of a difference until these reviews are more easily accessible to buyers.
