Liverpool owner John W Henry was forced to come out and apologize after the European Super League reached its peak.
Henry proposed the Premier League champions as one of the 12 founding members of the competition, which would have provided a huge financial boost.
However, the closed nature of the tournament led to widespread condemnation, with the Reds eventually becoming one of nine teams to confirm their intention to leave.
In a long statement, Henry confirmed that Fenway Sports Group will continue to do everything it can for the good of the club, which will certainly be music for Jurgen Klopp’s ears.
The German will be desperate for funds in the summer window, in order to help reduce the difference between the chosen Manchester City champions.

If a few tumultuous days have passed for those leading to Anfield, it is probably part of the pressure that Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez feels.

Bayern Munich legend David Alaba is set to put an end to speculation about his next destination and join Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports Germany.

However, it has now been claimed that the Ligue 1 team is ready to listen to offers for Caleta-Car in case the Reds renew their interest.
After extensive ties with the 24-year-old failed to materialize into a move, Klopp signed Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak, the latter signing a loan for the rest of the campaign.
The Reds boss is likely on the market for other defensive reinforcements, after seeing that the title defense is decimated by injuries.
RMC Sport (via Metro) claims that Marseille will not stand in the way of Caleta-Car to complete a move to a club that the player himself described as “one of the biggest in the world”.
