LIVE UPDATES: VP Pence, second lady, surgeon general gets COVID vaccine

Vice President Mike Pence, his wife and the American surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams all rolled up their sleeves on Friday morning and received the recently approved Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on live television.

The vaccinations were administered after a breaking report by top officials of the US Food and Drug Administration that the agency is “working fast” to approve Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine.

Quick Facts

The FDA advisory panel vote to endorse the Moderna vaccine was 20-0 on Thursday. One committee member abstained.
