We follow live the image of the playoffs on Sunday, following the playoff races in both AFC and NFC. We will periodically update the playoff odds and projections in ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) over the 16 games, showing how the playoff landscape changes as the games are played. Scenario: Washington’s scenario of both playoffs and winning the NFC East is very simple: win against Philadelphia. The only possible position in the playoffs that Washington has in the game is number 4.

REIT chances: Washington has a 60.4% chance of winning the NFC East and making the playoffs.
Scenario: The Buccaneers blocked a place in the playoffs, but are eliminated from the NFC South race. They will be number 5 or number 6 in NFC. Tampa Bay can end the spring standings (No. 5) with a win over Atlanta OR a loss to the Rams.

AFC
Scenario: The Chiefs closed both the AFC West Conference and No. 1. They will receive both their own home advantage throughout the AFC playoffs and a break from wild-card games.

REIT chances: The bosses gathered everything they could in the AFC. They have a 31.5% chance of winning the Super Bowl, by far the highest percentage in the NFL.
Scenario: The bills closed AFC East, but are eliminated by the number 1 chance at the conference. They will be either number 2 or number 3 in the AFC. Buffalo can win the second seed – which sets a wild card game with No. 7 seed – with a win over Miami OR a loss to Pittsburgh.

REIT chances: The chances of the bills to be the number 2 seed in the AFC are 83.0%.
Scenario: They closed AFC Nord, but are eliminated by the number 1 chance at the conference. They will be either number 2 or number 3 in the AFC. Pittsburgh can win the second seed – which sets a wild card game with No. 7 seed – with a win over Cleveland and a Buffalo loss.
