Licensed veterans Carly Waddell and Evan Bass announced their separation after three years of marriage, on December 23, in a joint statement.
On Saturday, Waddell, 35, broke his silence on the issue, saying she was “very sad” about the issue on Christmas Day.
Posting a photo with her and the couple’s two children, Bella, two and 13-month-old Charlie, she said on Instagram, “I feel like I’m missing a piece of my soul,” as she reflected on the separation.

“I feel like I’m missing a piece of my soul. I’m literally alone, writing this. But I am grateful that it was a white Christmas and I am grateful that all the children are having fun with their father and siblings.

Launching the news in People magazine on Wednesday, the couple said:
“We have made the difficult decision to separate. We will always value our time together and continue to respect each other as we focus on what is best for our family’s future.
The two met for the first time and got engaged in the spinoff of Bachelor Bachelor in Paradise in 2016 and got married in 2017 at the show.
