Liberty has been launching new wireless tariffs for AT&T customers for over 50 years

In what is defined as the first bidding move since the acquisition of AT&T Puerto Rico, Liberty Puerto Rico today announced a new tariff plan for mobile services for residents of Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), targeting people over the age of 50, called Unlimited 50+.

Under this new plan, discounts and security features against mobile fraud will be offered to new and existing customers.

“This offer is important to us because it is the first we have introduced to our new mobile customers,” said Naji Khoury, President and CEO of Liberty Puerto Rico. “As we have done for our broadband, video and telephony customers, we want to offer our customers exceptional service, combined with a world-class network and more value for money. We now have more flexibility to change our offerings, taking into account the needs and preferences of our local markets ”.

The Unlimited 50+ plan includes unlimited voice, text and data services in Puerto Rico, USVI, the United States, Mexico and Canada for $ 60 per month for one line or $ 40 per month per line for two lines for subscribers who subscribe to automatic payment and electronic invoicing options. The offer allows a maximum of two mobile phones per customer. In addition to the two lines, customers can add one per line tablet with unlimited data for an additional monthly fee of $ 20 or a smart watch (“Smart watch”) for $ 10 per month. Beside The special tariff, the Unlimited 50+ plan, offers free text messages to over 120 countries and access to the AT&T 5G network in Puerto Rico, USVI and the United States at no additional cost. This offer also includes Mobile security, a feature that automatically blocks and / or generates alerts for fraudulent calls and spam.

Waldo Hooker, vice president of customer experience at Liberty Puerto Rico, added that the company created this offering to meet the needs of the population segment aged 50 and over, which has grown steadily on the island. “It is well known that the over-50s segment in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands is proportionally more significant than in other US markets.” Recent data from the Puerto Rican Institute of Statistics show that the average age in Puerto Rico continues to rise, from 37 in 2010 to 43.2 in 2019.

“We are excited to offer this rate to adults aged 50 and over to provide this segment of customers with a plan that better meets their current connectivity and communication needs,” said Hooker. “New and existing customers who qualify for this offer can visit any AT&T store to sign up and get more value, quality services and access to the fastest wireless network in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.”

To qualify for the Unlimited 50+ plan, customers must meet the eligibility requirements. The account holder must be 50 years of age or older. Customers also have the option to choose a new mobile phone from a wide variety of models, including 5G compatible devices, or to bring their own device.

To enroll in the Unlimited 50+ plan, customers must visit an authorized AT&T store, kiosk, or licensor in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands and provide valid government-issued identification showing age and age information.
