LeVar Burton will invite the host “Jeopardy!” with George Stephanopoulos

“Danger!” he ends his 37th season with an explosion.

The long-running show announced its final hosts to end the final season on Wednesday. LeVar Burton, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, David Faber (who was a “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Champion) and Joe Buck are among the stars exploited to host the very popular trivia game.

Burton previously expressed his deep enthusiasm to host the show and take over the reins of the late great Alex Trebek.

“Reading Rainbow” 64-year-old host rushed to his new concert Twitter, writing: “THANK YOU … everyone for your passionate support! I am happy, excited and eager to be the host of Jeopardy !, and I will do my best to live up to your faith in you. YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE! Go ahead and take my word for it, this time. ”

Earlier this month, Burton posted on Twitter a fan-initiated campaign to make him a “Jeopardy!” Permanent. host.

“Leaving this here where the powers that be listen,” actor “Roots” posted on Twitter along with a petition. The document has since gained more than 250,000 signatures starting today.

Burton recently appeared on the podcast “The Mothership” of USA TODAY and continued to talk about his desire to host the test show. “It’s something I think is a good idea,” he said. “I think it’s a good match of what the show is, what the show requires and what I feel I’m bringing to the table. I feel as strong about my correctness for this as I do Kunta and Geordi. And I’m the one who invested in getting the job. ”

Burton added that he feels he wants to do “justice to Alex’s legacy.” Trebek died in November 2019 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80. The show paid homage to the iconic host’s legendary career in January.

After Trebek’s death, ABC News journalist George Stephanopoulos allegedly lobbied for the concert, among several other candidates, and “actively” put his name in the ring.

“Danger!” executive producer Mike Richards released a statement on Wednesday about the crowd of famous new hosts. “Our goal was to present a wide range of guest hosts with different skill sets and environments on our way to finding a permanent host,” said Richards. “Our passionate fans tell us what they like and we listen. All the invited hosts brought individualism, energy and a genuine love for our show in each of their episodes. We look forward to sharing the rest of the season with our spectators. ”

In addition to the appearance of each guest, a donation will be made to a charity of your choice. The donated amount will be matched with the cumulative winnings of the competitors competing during the week.

The previous season’s 37 guest hosts included Anderson Cooper, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Savannah Guthrie, Katie Couric and Aaron Rodgers.
