Last week, a firmware update for LEGO Super Mario (yes, plastic bricks now have firmware, folks) made the red plumber start shouting the name of his weaker brother. You didn’t need to be a Mensa candidate to understand that a Luigi set was on the way, but a list on Amazon China now revealed everything (thanks, Nintendo Everything).
As the LEGO The Brick Fan website noted, LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Luigi (set number 71387) features a lily Luigi, very similar to the interactive figure, Mario speaker, with Bluetooth connectivity and small screens that allow the eyes and mouth to animate and interact with various pieces and enemies included in the various sets.
The new set includes various figures – including a cute pink Yoshi – and will interact with all existing LEGO Super Mario sets. According to the listing, this LEGO Luigi set will be released on July 9, so we will be paying attention to the listings in the West and more information in the coming days and weeks.
