LeBron James leaves the Atlanta Hawks game with injury

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had to leave Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks with injury.

James, one of the MVP nominees this season, injured his right ankle during a play in the second set.

The 36-year-old striker averaged 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8 assists per game before the game against the Hawks. Star striker Anthony Davis is also injured.

James’ injury came after a collision with Solomon Hill. Out of frustration, he overturned a chair in the direction of the dressing room.

James immediately screamed in pain, squeezing his right leg. The Lakers requested a timeout to check on the 18-year-old veteran, with several teammates, coaches and medical staff going to the field to surround James.

James managed to get up on his own and limped back on the bench.

LA requested another exit shortly after, and James retired permanently from the game, with 10:04 left in the second quarter, the Lakers following with 34-30.

The Lakers will play next Sunday against the Phoenix Suns.
