SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Commissioner Rebeca Clay-Flores updated the community on the local response to COVID-19 in Thursday night’s briefing.
Nirenberg reported a total of 203,191 cases of COVID-19 and 3,076 total deaths in Bexar County, an increase of 210 new cases since Thursday. Three new deaths were reported today.
The 7-day rolling average is 179.
City officials also reported that 188 patients are hospitalized, 69 are in the intensive care unit and 39 are on ventilators. There are 12% of staff beds available and 72% of fans available.
Nirenberg said that 434,611 people received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 243,317 are completely vaccinated in Bexar County.
The mayor said the city has not made a decision on permission to hold a traditional Easter camp this year.

The city will give priority to those who are most vulnerable. From Monday, anyone aged 80 or over is encouraged to visit Alamodome in the afternoon from Monday to Saturday to get a vaccine without an appointment.
