Águilas Cibaeñas general manager Ángel Ovalles revealed on Thursday afternoon that it will be this Friday when the last Covid-19 tests on players will arrive and based on the results will determine the final team that will represent the Caribbean country Series 2021 in Mazatlán, Mexico.
Ovalles participated in a virtual conference with the national and international press and exchanged information about the health of his players, the quality of the team, the pitching and the goals of the harriers in the Caribbean classic.
“We are very flattered by the team we have formed to represent the country and by the commitment we made yesterday with the President of the Republic Luis Abinader that we will fulfill in the name of God,” Ovalles said. He praised the atmosphere of the team that breathes among the players, indicating that there is the hunger to win and the desire to reach that cup, so he trusts them one hundred percent. Manager Aguilucho reported that the players under observation had already given negative results and joined the team, so the Eagles keep the core of the players who were essential to win the Baseball League.
“The latest tests will tell us what to do, if a player can’t join the team, he will be replaced by a reinforcement with the same qualities,” said manager Aguilucho, citing that the teams have no limits to strengthen, but that intends to keep the group of players that they already have the rhythm. Las Águilas will depart at 2 pm for Mexico from Cibao International Airport on a flight contracted by the Dominican Professional Baseball League with Sky High Aviation and will travel in an Airbus A321 under the Sky Cana brand.
Rotating lenses
Ángel Ovalles defined the rotation of pitching Aguilas Cibaeñas as one of the team’s strengths, quoting that “Carlos Martínez and César Valdez have been named.
