Eusebio Sacristan suffered a head injury on Wednesday night at his home in Valladolid and was transferred to a hospital a few hours later, where he underwent emergency surgery.
The last spell of the coach in the pit was with Girona. Prior to that, he spent three seasons at Real society in LaLiga Santander, four with Barcelona B and two seasons with Celtic Vigo.
Eusebio, as a player, joined the ranks at Valladolid and made his first team debut at just 19 years old.
After four seasons, he moved in Atletico Madrid, before leaving for Barcelona a season later. At the Blaugrana, he enjoyed seven successful seasons, winning four league titles, a European Cup, a Copa del Rey and the Cup Winners’ Cup.
From Barcelona he moved to Celtic Vigo, before returning to Valladolid for the last four years of his career and retired at the age of 38.
