Kylie Jenner can be a lot of things, but “heartless” is not one of them.
Mega-rich maven beauty, 23, defended herself on Instagram on Monday after fans attacked her for asking for donations to help cover the medical bills of famous makeup artist Samuel Rauda following a horrific car accident. And while Jenner is known for her luxurious lifestyle, she donated only $ 5,000 to her girlfriend.
After calling the reaction a “false narrative” in her Instagram story, she explained: “I saw my current makeup artist and friend Ariel post about Sam and his family’s GoFundMe accident and immediately called Ariel to see what happened to Sam [sic]. ”
The reality star said she decided to visit the fundraising page at the time and saw that the goal was set at $ 10,000 and her family raised $ 6,000.
“I introduced 5k to achieve my original goal and thought about posting on my stories to gain more awareness if someone feels compelled to share or donate,” she wrote.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I do things from the heart and I try to be helpful whenever I can,” she concluded. “Let us all remain positive and keep Sam, his family, and anyone you know, going through a difficult time in our prayers. I hope you have a nice day and encourage each other to help. ”
She also mentioned that “Sam is not my makeup artist and, unfortunately, we no longer have a personal relationship, but I worked with him a few years ago and I think he is the sweetest.”
A source close to the star “Keeping up with the Kardashians” told Page Six the same story Monday earlier.
According to the GoFundMe page, Rauda underwent major surgery on March 14 after being involved in a car wreck and is in a “fight” for his life.
Rauda’s friend, La Demi, explained that he “flew from a moving vehicle, crushing his head on the sidewalk”, resulting in “internal bleeding and 8 different brain injuries”.
Now, the GoFundMe page has a goal of $ 120,000.
HUDA Beauty founder Huda Kattan donated $ 10,000 to help Samuel, while Bella Thorne donated $ 5,000 and Sofia Richie donated $ 3,000. Jenner’s BFF Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou donated $ 1,000, and former Kardashian West Brands chief operating officer Steph Shep donated $ 750.
