Kurt Vile signed with the legendary jazz label Verve Records, Panel reports. He will release his first LP for the label next year. So far, Vile has released its music through independent record labels, including Mexican Summer and Matador, which released 2018 Wrap it in and 2020 Speed, sound, Lonely KV (ep).
In a statement, Vile said: “I admired the Verve logo on the back (and front!) Of many Velvet Underground albums since adolescence.” He added: “I think my previous album Wrap it in it’s my deepest record and I’m still very proud of it. I’m excited to launch his pursuit on Verve. It was a crazy year and I have hundreds of songs and ideas in the box, on paper and on tape recorders, all scattered in the “kv area” … nuggets recorded before and after the pandemic or … in the studios and at home. .. past, present music and, yes, we still play. It will be hard, it will be beautiful … and it will be there. ”

As Vile noted in his statement, Verve hosted rock acts such as Velvet Underground. Currently, Villas will be a label colleague with active artists such as Jon Batiste and Betty LaVette, as well as legendary late acts, including Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie.
