MIDLOTHIAN, Virginia – Several blank photos were accidentally taken at a Kroger in Central Virginia to people who thought they were receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.
CBS 6 Problem Solvers asked a spokesperson about a mistake reported in the Midlothian location on the 14101 Midlothian Turnpike.
Allison McGee, the corporate affairs manager for Kroger Mid-Atlantic, said one of Kroger’s “The Little Clinic” teams administered blank shots instead of the COVID-19 vaccine as an “honest mistake.” Earlier in the day, company officials said the team administered saline vaccines instead of the vaccine.
“This was immediately addressed with the TLC team and all vaccinators were retrained and reminded of our current vaccination policies,” McGee said.
Kroger did not clarify exactly how many people were affected, but told CBS 6 that it was a “small number of individuals.”
“All affected customers have been contacted and have now received the COVID-19 vaccine,” McGee said in a statement. “We apologize for this oversight and for the inconvenience caused to these customers.”
WTVR CBS 6 asked Kroger how such a mistake happened, but I didn’t get an answer to that question.
