There have been a lot of promising games canceled over the years, thankfully – many of them seem to be coming back from the dead. Already this year, GoldenEye 007 XBLA and The planet of the dinosaurs were revealed online and now, to add to that, a pre-E3 demo of Castlevania Resurrection came to the surface.
This title was originally announced by Konami in 1999 and was intended to be a Sega Dreamcast version until it was postponed and then canceled around 2000. It is believed that the battles of the Dreamcast and the success of the PlayStation 2 contributed.
Before it was canceled, it was presented to the press and now somehow, out of nowhere, a video with the game was uploaded to YouTube, entitled “Castlevania Resurrection exists”. It seems to be an early version of the game (pre-dating from 1999) and allowed the developer to transport the character to many different areas.
It seems that this title focuses on Sonia Belmont and a character named Victor Belmont and would have taken place in 1666 just before the initial release of Simon Belmont.
It is not yet known if the person who uploaded this material will distribute this pre-release version online, but if we hear anything, we will inform you. On a similar note, last week, the “absolute worst” Castlevania game joined the Arcade Archives collection on the Nintendo Switch.
