Konami registers new Japanese trademarks for “Castlevania” and “Metal Gear Rising”

Although, of course, it is not too much, this next news will still make a lot of languages. As reported by Gematsu, Konami has publicly filed trademarks in Japan for Metal Gear Rising and Akumajou Dracula (which is the Japanese name for Castlevania) earlier this month, on April 6.

You can start speculating if Konami intends to appear at E3 with a new entry in Castlevania serial, or a remaster / sequel in 2013 Metal Gear Rising: Revenge. If you really wanted to put your Bristol painting to work, what if that “you’ve been waiting for” silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka in February was actually referring to a new one Castlevania game?

Then, in February, came the report that Konami was open to outsourcing both franchises to third-party developers, so this could be related to that. Whatever happens, we just want new entries in both series, Konami.

In the meantime, Castlevania fans can look forward to the fourth and final season of the Netflix series, which will premiere on May 13.

Metal Gear Rising: Revenge was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February 2013 and was followed by a Steam version in January 2014.
