A quick story that is broadcast online: Konami recently registered trademarks in Japan for both Castlevania and Metal Gear Rising. At first glance, I would assume that this is just the publisher renewing its properties. After all, the two brands have little to do with each other – but people have spoken indifferently.
The Metal Gear Rising brand is of particular interest, given the sudden appearance of tweets about Metal Gear, but the thought that they are connected is probably a bit of a stretch.
Speaking of Metal Gear Rising, I wrote a box of soap in February about how Konami should completely remaster it. If this really happens, then you all owe us one.
