Kitten Upstages SNL Outline of post-pandemic encounters

Saturday Night Live’s the final sketch of the evening addressed the expected extinction of the post-pandemic encounters, but the actors’ jokes were staged by an adorable tabby kitten who continued to soak in the last part of the sketch.

The scene involved SNL member of the distribution Kate McKinnon and the host of the night and the musical guest, Nick Jonas, like two strangers who meet in a bar on their first adventure in the future (hopefully almost!) after the coronavirus pandemic came to an end.

The two stumble upon long-unused flirting techniques and awful pickup lines as they try to get to know each other.

“You have beautiful eyes,” Jonas said, “but it would look better on my floor.”

“I don’t think you said that well,” McKinnon replied, encouraging him to “just try to make a pretty face.”

Then they resort to magic tricks to impress each other, McKinnon first showing a unique way to tie a cherry stalk in a knot that she reveals she learned at “Hogwarts – joke! Prison.”

Instead of taking a bunny out of a hat, Jonas’ trick was to take a kitten out of his coat. The little brown tabby meowed when the audience reacted excitedly.

McKinnon grinned happily as she took the wrinkled kitten from Jonas and then called the bartender to bring a bowl of milk, which he had drunk instead.

The bartender, played by Aidy Bryant, tied the kitten in his arms as he continued to meow in the rest of the sketch.
