THQ Nordic has announced that the action RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, a remaster of 2012 Kingdoms of Amalur: account, will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 16.
The launch will be the first time Kingdoms of Amalur will be launched on a portable console and it seems that the owners of the switches are at hand. Three DLCs will be included in total – Teeth of Naros, Legend of Dead Kel and weapon and armor packs – which, when combined with the core game, are said to offer “hundreds of hours of exploration, dynamic combat and venture”. Oh, and the music is made by former Rare Grant Kirkhope staff, which is nice.
Here is an official description:
The RPG hit is back! From the minds of bestselling author RA Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, lead designer Ken Rolston, comes Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. Remastered with stunning images and a refined game Re-Reckoning offers an intense and customizable RPG battle in a vast world of gaming. Discover the secrets of Amalur, from the vibrant city of Rathir to the vast Dalentarth region to the gloomy dungeons of the Brigand Hall caves. Save a world torn apart by a vicious war and control the keys to immortality as the first warrior to ever rise from the dead.
Players are tasked with building their own character from “countless” combinations before evolving their class and taking on enemies in abundance. There is a lot of content and world tradition to explore, as well as a number of side missions to keep you moving for hours and hours.
There are more on the way, as THQ Nordic has confirmed plans for a new Amalur Kingdom expansion called “Fatesworn”. The details are still quite thin at the moment, but we are told to expect it to arrive later this year.
