Another huge step in Keyontae Johnsonrecovery – Univ. from the Florida basketball star Gator Chomp just got out of the hospital bed !!
It’s been almost a week since Johnson crashed on the field in a game against Florida. He was admitted to Tallahassee and was eventually transported back to UF Hospital in Gainesville.
Johnson was placed in a medically induced coma after the incident – but since then he woke up and did extraordinary progress in its recovery.
You can see in the new video … Johnson speaks, smiles and moves his arms (hence “Chomp”). It’s wonderful to see.
“First of all, I would like to thank God,” says Johnson.
“I know that you have all sent your prayers in recent weeks, and my parents and I are very grateful for all the prayers that have come out.”
“To all the doctors and medical staff at Tallahassee Memorial and UF Shands, I just want to thank you for all the support you have given me.”
“For my Gator Nation and UF sports family, I just want to thank you for all the prayers you have given me.”
Great to see – and hopefully it will continue to improve … and maybe even return soon.
Johnson is one of the best college basketball players in the country and a legitimate NBA prospect.
