Kevin Durant was ruled out of the Brooklyn Nets game Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers to rehabilitate his Achilles tendon injury.
Durant played more than 50 minutes on Wednesday during the two Nets lost in overtime against the Cavaliers. Durant scored 38 points, with 12 rebounds and 8 assists.
Friday is also the first night back, as the Nets are scheduled to play the Miami Heat on Saturday night.
Durant played in both back-to-back games once this season, on Jan. 12 against the Denver Nuggets and Jan. 13 against the New York Knicks. Durant said the ability to play back-to-back was one of his goals after injuring his Achilles tendon, which kept him out of last season.
Durant tore his right Achilles tendon in June 2018 during the NBA Finals. Durant is averaging 31.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6 assists per game this season.
