Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets, remains NBA All-Star Game captain despite not playing

NEW YORK – Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets will continue to serve as captain of the NBA All-Star Game, despite a hamstring injury that will prevent him from playing.

Durant and his All-Star Game colleague, Los Angeles Lakers captain LeBron James, will each write a list of the selected All-Stars group. The All-Star project will be broadcast on TNT on March 4.

It was unclear whether Durant would travel to Atlanta for the March 7 game.

Durant missed the Nets’ last seven games with a hamstring streak and was ruled out of the All-Star break. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver named Domantas Sabonis as Durant’s replacement in the game, and Jayson Tatum was promoted to All-Star in Durant’s absence.

11 times, All-Star, Durant has an average of 29 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists for Brooklyn this season.
