Keith Urban presents a new handmade tribal ink design at the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards

Keith Urban appeared and sang Sunday at the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

And while on stage, the New Zealand-born country singer wore a new tribal-inspired tattoo on his right hand.

Keith, 53, showed off his design while grabbing the microphone during the ceremony.

The former American Idol judge had made his tattoo debut in a video from his base in Sydney, Australia, just a month earlier, in March.

Wearing a dark blue blazer jacket with a black lining wrapped around his forearms, the new ink stood out.

Two of Keith’s tattoos on the same arm are dedicated to his wife Nicole Kidman, including the tribal-style bracelet with the initials “NMK” for “Nicole Mary Kidman.”

It also has a more intricate design on the right biceps, which is an elaborate heart-shaped ridge with a banner in the center that says “Nicole.”

Keith also has a tribal-style Phoenix tattoo on his left forearm, a sun on his chest, an eagle on his right shoulder, a tribal design on his left bicep, and the word “love” on his left shoulder.

Keith and Nicole met at a G’Day LA event in Los Angeles in January 2005, before getting married in Manly, Sydney in May 2006.

They share their daughters Sunday Rose, 12, and Faith Margaret, 10.

The Hollywood actress was previously married to actor Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. They adopted daughter Isabella, 28 years ago, and son Connor, 26 years ago.

Keith will coach the next season of The Voice Australia.

The singing contest recently had a shake-up of celebrity talents as it moved from Channel Nine to Channel Seven.

He will be joined by Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian.
